5 Key points that our body is related to the Temple of God:

1) Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.

1 Cor.3:16-17

2) What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1Cor.6:19-20

3) And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. 2 Cor.6:15-16, Exo.25:8

4) Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 1Peter.2:5

The church on earth is God’s temple, and it is to assume divine proportions before the world. This building is to be the light of the world. It is to be composed of living stones laid close together, stone fitting to stone, making a solid building. All these stones are not of the same shape or dimension. Some are large and some are small, but each one has its own place to fill.  In Heavenly Place page 275

5) Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;   And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;   In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord. In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. Eph.2:19-22

Those who corrupt their own bodies cannot enjoy the favor of God, until they sincerely repent, make an entire reform, and perfect holiness in the fear of the Lord. Appeal to Mothers page 30

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1 Cro.3:16-17

God is the owner of the whole man. Soul, body, and spirit are his. God gave his only begotten Son for the body as well as the soul, and our entire life belongs to God, to be consecrated to his service, that through the exercise of every faculty He has given to glorify him. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. HL 9.1, Gen.1:26

The life of Christ is to be revealed in humanity. Man was the crowning act of the creation of God, made in the image of God, and designed to be a counterpart of God; but Satan has labored to obliterate the image of God in man, and to imprint upon him his own image. Man is very dear to God, because he was formed in His own image. This fact should impress us with the importance of teaching by precept and example the sin of defiling, by the indulgence of appetite, or by any other sinful practice, the body which is designed to represent God to the world.

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Gen.2:7

From the first dawn of reason the human mind should become intelligent in regard to the physical structure of the body. Here Jehovah has given a specimen of himself; for man was made in the image of God. HL 9.2

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

The living organism is God’s property. It belongs to him by creation and by redemption; and by a misuse of any of our powers we rob God of the honor due him.  1cor.6:19-20 , HL 9.3

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Psa.139:14

The greatest of all creations is man himself, the marvellous machine precise and efficient. The human body has a dynamic framework of bone and cartilage called the skeleton. The human skeleton is flexible, with hinges and joints that were made to move. But to cut down harmful frictions, such moving parts must be lubricated.

Man-made machines are lubricated only by outside sources. But the body lubricates itself by manufacturing a jelly-like substance in the right amount at every place it is needed. Yes, the body is a wonder machine, despite the defects from genetic copying errors (mutations) that have accumulated since the Fall of man brought on the Curse (Genesis 3).

The wonderful mechanism of the human body does not receive half the care that is often given to a mere lifeless machine. GW.175

This fact should impress us with the importance of teaching by precept and example the sin of defiling, by the indulgence of appetite or by any other sinful practice, the body which is designed to represent God to the world. HL 10.2

Personal Rights:- Have I not the right to do as I please with my own body? No, you have no moral right, because you are violating the laws of life and health which God has given you. You are the Lord’s property, his by creation and his by redemption. Every human being is under obligation to preserve the living machinery that is so fearfully and wonderfully made. Gen.1:26, 1Cor.6:19-20, HL 10.4

1)Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body. 1 Cor.6:19-20

2) I have wiped out your transgressions like a thick cloud and your sins like a heavy mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you. Isaiah 44:22

3) You are bought with a price; be not you the servants of men. 1 Corinthians 7:23

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3John 1:2

The physical organism should have special care, that the powers of the body may not be dwarfed, but developed to their full extent. The health should be as sacredly guarded as the character. HL 10.5 &6

Jesus did not ignore the claims of the body; He had respect for the physical condition of man, and went about healing the sick, and restoring their faculties to those suffering from their loss.

How incumbent/mandatory, then, is it upon us to preserve the natural health with which God has endowed us, and to avoid weakening our powers? HL 10.7

Mind Supreme:-As they more fully understand the human body, the wonderful work of God’s hand, formed in the image of the divine, they will seek to bring their bodies into subjection to the noble powers of the mind. The body will be regarded by them as a wonderful structure, formed by the Infinite Designer, and given into their charge to be kept in harmonious action. The obligation we owe to God in presenting to him clean, pure, healthy bodies is not comprehended. HL 11.1&2

Christ in Man: Christ is to live in his human agents, and work through their faculties, and act through their capabilities. When human agents choose the will of God and are conformed to the character of Christ, Jesus acts through their organs and faculties. The Spirit of Christ is to take possession of the organs of speech, mental powers, physical and moral powers. HL 11

Our very bodies are not our own, to treat as we please, to cripple by habits that lead to decay, making it impossible to render to God perfect service. Our lives and all our faculties belong to him. He is caring for us every moment; he keeps the living machinery in action; if we were left to run it for one moment, we should die. We are absolutely dependent upon God. HL 11.6

It was a wonderful thing for God to create man, to make mind. He created him that every faculty might be the faculty of the divine mind. The glory of God is to be revealed in the creating of man in God’s image, and in his redemption. One soul is of more value than a world. The Lord Jesus is the author of our being, and he is also the author of our redemption; and everyone who will enter the kingdom of God must develop a character that is the counterpart of the character of God. None can dwell with God in a holy heaven but those who bear his likeness. Those who are redeemed will be overcomers; they will be elevated, pure, one with Christ. S. T., May 31, 1896

Duty to Study the Laws of Life:  It is our duty to study the laws that govern our being, and conform to them. Ignorance in these things is sin. From the first dawn of reason, the human mind should become intelligent in regard to the physical structure. We may behold and admire the work of God in the natural world, but the human habitation is the most wonderful. HL 13

A practical knowledge of the science of human life is necessary in order to glorify God in our bodies. It is therefore of the highest importance that among studies selected for childhood, physiology should occupy the first place. HL 13

Character of God: He who hungers and thirsts after God will seek for an understanding of the laws which the God of wisdom has impressed upon creation. These laws are a transcript of his character. They must control all who enter the heavenly and better country. God’s law is written by his own finger upon every nerve, every muscle, every faculty which has been entrusted to man. HL 17

And the Lord delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which the Lord spake with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly. Deu.9:10

Obedience to Law: God in his wisdom has established natural laws for the proper control of our dress, our appetites, and our passions, and he requires of us obedience in every particular. HL 17

Physical Sin: The transgression of physical law is transgression of God’s law. Our Creator is Jesus Christ. He is the author of our being. He is the author of the physical law as he is the author of the moral law. And the human being who is careless and reckless of the habits and practises that concern his physical life and health, sins against God. God is not reverenced, respected, or recognized. This is shown by the injury done to the body in violation of physical law. RH 83m
